Dr. Brad Hunt brings more than 40 years of experience and dedication to periodontal and implant care in San Diego. After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Minnesota, he was selected for a competitive residency in Periodontology at the esteemed Naval Dental School in Bethesda, MD. His decades of experience include over 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy, where he honed his surgical precision, discipline, and leadership.
Dr. Hunt is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and has completed recertification not once, but three times—an extraordinary reflection of his commitment to continuing education and clinical excellence. He has served as faculty at both USC and Loma Linda University, lectured around the world, and continues to mentor the next generation of dental professionals.
What truly sets Dr. Hunt apart is his patient-first philosophy. He believes the best outcomes come from trust, education, and taking the time to get things right the first time. His calm demeanor, meticulous approach, and genuine care for each patient’s experience create an atmosphere where people feel respected, informed, and safe—especially when facing complex dental decisions.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Hunt enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, and playing golf. He brings the same dedication and attention to detail to every area of life—including your care.

Your First Visit: What to Expect
From your very first visit with us, our priority is your comfort and peace of mind. We take the time to understand your health goals, review any referral information, and explain all of your options for periodontal care and dental implant treatment. Our goal is to empower you with knowledge—not pressure you—so you feel confident in every decision about your oral health.

When you arrive, you can expect a warm welcome, a calming environment, and a team that listens. Dr. Hunt, a specialist in periodontics and implant dentistry, will personally review your scans, evaluate your oral health, and explain your treatment options in detail. Every care plan is designed with your comfort, long-term health, and best possible results in mind.
What Happens at Your First Visit
Your first visit includes a comprehensive evaluation so we can fully understand your needs. This may include:
- A detailed review of your dental and medical health history
- An oral examination and review of your dental x-rays
- A complete periodontal evaluation, including charting of your gums, intraoral photos, and an intraoral scan
- An assessment of your bite, loose teeth, and jawbone health to check for bone loss
After your exam, Dr. Hunt will explain your diagnosis, educate you about your condition, and discuss all treatment options available. He believes in working closely with your general dentist and any other providers involved in your care to ensure you achieve lasting oral health and overall well-being.

Please bring the following to your first visit:
Appointment Scheduling & Cancellations
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you so we can provide the highest level of care. To make the most of your visit, please arrive promptly. If you need to reschedule:
- For non-surgical appointments, please provide at least 3 full business days’ notice.
- For surgical appointments, please provide 7 full business days’ notice.
This allows us to offer the time to another patient in need. A cancellation fee will apply if sufficient notice is not given.
