We will need to gather some information on your current condition and your medical condition before we begin the treatment process.
This will allow us to best determine your diagnosis and customize an individualized treatment plan for you. You can expedite this process by filling out our new patient forms before your appointment. There is no reason to delay. Call us today at 858-925-1188 to schedule an appointment.
We welcome private paying patients and are very appreciative that you have chosen us to meet your periodontal and implant needs. For your convenience, we accept cash, check, credit card (Visa and MasterCard), as well as Care Credit (a convenient patient payment plan).
For those with dental insurance we, likewise, strive to meet your periodontal and implant needs, without distinction. We must emphasize that as dental care professionals, our relationship is with you and not with your insurance company. We will make every effort to provide you with accurate coverage estimates based on information available to us at the time but you are ultimately responsible for knowing the details of your benefits. At times, it is almost impossible to accurately estimate our patients insurance co-pays. Many insurance companies will not apply benefits or give out fees until after treatment is completed and not all services are covered benefits in all contracts. Deductibles and/or estimated co-pays will be collected at the time service is provided as insurance is only meant to assist you as partial payment, not as full payment, for services rendered. As a courtesy, we will file your insurance claims. Upon receipt of your insurance payment, you will be responsible for payment of balances not covered by your insurance company. If you have deposited a co-payment in excess, we will gladly refund the credit to you or apply it towards treatment. We ask that you keep us informed of any changes to your insurance.
About Dr. Hunt
Dr Hunt is a Board-certified specialist in Periodontics and provides Dental Implant services as well. He specializes in the diagnosis and conservative treatment of gum disease and oral pathology. He also performs cosmetic procedures to aesthetically enhance your smile and places dental implants that can replace missing or non-restorable teeth.
Dr Hunt believes that finding the right Periodontist to meet your periodontal and implant needs is the most important first step to achieving dental health. Many patients choose to come to us as a referral from their dentist. Others are referred by patients and friends of the practice. A referral is not required to visit our office. In all cases, we will collaborate and communicate fully with you and your dentist.
What will happen at my first visit?
During your first visit, Dr Hunt will complete a thorough evaluation of your periodontal condition. He will obtain a complete in-depth dental and medical health history, a dental and gum examination and review your dental x-rays. He will assess your bite, any loose teeth, and your jaw for bone loss. He will then educate you on your condition and provide you with all your options for treatment. Dr Hunt will work closely with you to decide on treatment that is clinically appropriate yet takes into consideration your personal needs. The first step of treatment may start during this visit. Dr Hunt strongly believes in collaborating fully with other dentists involved in your care to help you achieve overall dental health and well-being.
