
Dr Hunt was born and raised in Mitchell, South Dakota. He earned his dental degree from the University of Minnesota in 1985 and completed specialized training in Periodontology at the Naval Dental School in Bethesda, MD in 1992. He served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years before establishing his periodontal practice here in San Diego. He has lectured extensively in this country and abroad. He has also taught periodontics courses for residents at USC, hygienists at Loma Linda University and taught and mentored AEGD and GPR residents in the U.S. Navy. He belongs to numerous professional organizations and actively participates in continuing education to keep abreast of the latest techniques. Dr Hunt has been Board-certified by the American Board of Periodontology as a Diplomate in Periodontics since 1995.
Colleen was born and raised in western MA. She has been a dental assistant since the 1980's and has worked with a wide variety of patients in a general practice environment. She relocated to San Diego in 2007 and is enjoying everything the West Coast has to offer. Colleen’s gentle demeanor is especially soothing for surgical patients. She enjoys spending time in the great outdoors biking, rowing and hiking. She has two grown children.
Nancy was born and raised in Calexico, CA. She was a dental assistant for 7 years until she went on to hygiene school. She received her Dental Hygiene degree from Lakeland College in Illinois and has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2001. Nancy worked several years with Dr Hunt while he was a Periodontist in the Navy. Nancy is able to relate easily to patients to educate them and motivate them to have more effective oral hygiene routines. Nancy enjoys going for long walks with her dog.
Sandie was born and raised in Honolulu, HI. She graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA with a BS in Occupational Therapy. She worked for many years as an OT in Adult Rehabilitation helping stroke patients become independent in their daily activities. She took time off to raise her 2 children, both in elementary school now, and has re-entered the work force as the office manager for Dr Hunt’s practice. Sandie enjoys working with periodontal patients, just as she did with stroke patients, as both populations need empathy to encourage them to make positive changes in their lives leading to overall health and well-being.
Tawny was raised in North County Coastal San Diego. She has been working in the dental field since 1998. Tawny is especially good at making patients feel at ease and welcomed from the moment of their first call to the office and throughout their time with us. She enjoys helping patients understand theirs conditions and the treatment that is needed and assisting patients every step of the way.
